This preliminary study for the first time investigated the feasibility of tomographic monitoring of flames in porous media, in which the cross-sectional profiles of flames inside a porous medium were imaged by electrical capacitance tomography (ECT).
It is difficult and high-cost to detect flame fronts by laser-sheet diagnostics under microgravity (micro-g), thus image processing is critical to obtain valuable information from the raw data. In the present study, premixed V-flames were detected un
