This paper describes the moving-window algorithm we developed to fulfill these requirements. This algorithm uses pattern matching of the images of the areas around each minutia. it is fast and uses a stepping stone scan. it verifies thin-ridged fingerprints, whose acceptance rate gets IOW with the stepping stone scan, by moving the start point of the scan. We tested this method by computer simulation.
